As people drive by the Cortec Corporation building on the northeast side of the railroad tracks on Highway 95 in Cambridge, they might notice a big change in the structure at the front of the building.

A tube bending and manufacturing services company based in Canada will open their first U.S. facility in Cambridge in March.
During the Cambridge City Council meeting Feb. 20, Economic Development Director Stan Gustafson explained staff has been working with Ritz Machine Works from Dauphin, Manitoba, Canada, that will be starting its U.S. operation in a vacant industrial building located at 315 Garfield St. S., in the southeast Industrial Park.
Following discussion, the council approved a loan agreement and promissory note for $50,000 to Ritz Machine Works. The loan will have an interest rate of 3 percent amortized over seven years.
