Cub Foods Expands by Half with Purchase of County Market
Cub Foods’ February acquisition of County Market changed more than ownership. The mega grocer added 21,300 square feet of store space -- a 54% expansion. It also did an exterior facelift and added a drive-thru pharmacy. Cub plans to install a four-pump gas station in the coming months.
Ryan Adds OfficeMax to Target Site
Ryan Construction is completing construction of a 14,536-square-foot addition to its Target store on Cambridge’s east side. The addition, designed for OfficeMax, provides another high-traffic anchor for the city’s regional retail center.

Cambridge Completes Phase II of Village Mall
Completion of Phase II of Village Mall added 11,732 square feet of prime retail space to the south side of Highway 95 near Cambridge’s high-volume Super Wal-Mart. VetCare Clinic was its first tenant.

Phase II opens on the heels of another successful Cambridge retail center: Arthur’s Court. It’s home to Caribou Coffee, Great Clips, Sylvan Learning Center, and Domino’s Pizza.

  Community College Expands
The State of Minnesota is responding to the region’s booming population by investing $10.5 million in an addition to the Cambridge campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community College. The 18,000-square-foot addition replaces an antiquated metal building. The space will be open for classes this fall.
Cambridge-Isanti School District Adds Two Buildings
Cambridge-Isanti boasts one of the fastest growing school districts in the state. The district anticipated the influx of families by constructing two new schools last fall at a cost of $48 million. The 127,000-square-foot middle school located southeast of Cambridge provides space for up to 875 students. The 97,000-square-foot intermediate school accommodates 850 students.
