Building Activity Heats Up in Cambridge
While cold
temps hover over most of Minnesota, commercial activity is heating
up in Cambridge -- spurred by a fast-growing trade area that’s
projected to double by 2020, according to a retail analysis by The McComb Group. |

Cub Foods Expands by Half with
Purchase of County Market Cub Foods’ February
acquisition of County Market changed more than ownership. The mega
grocer added 21,300 square feet of store space -- a 54% expansion.
It also did an exterior facelift and added a drive-thru pharmacy.
Cub plans to install a four-pump gas station in the coming months.

Ryan Adds OfficeMax
to Target Site Ryan Construction is completing
construction of a 14,536-square-foot addition to its Target store on
Cambridge’s east side. The addition, designed for OfficeMax,
provides another high-traffic anchor for the city’s regional retail
center. |

Cambridge
Completes Phase II of Village Mall Completion of Phase
II of Village Mall added 11,732 square feet of prime retail space to
the south side of Highway 95 near Cambridge’s high-volume Super
Wal-Mart. VetCare Clinic was its first tenant.
Phase II opens on the
heels of another successful Cambridge retail center: Arthur’s Court.
It’s home to Caribou Coffee, Great Clips, Sylvan Learning Center,
and Domino’s Pizza. |

Community College
Expands The State of Minnesota is responding to the
region’s booming population by investing $10.5 million in an
addition to the Cambridge campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
The 18,000-square-foot addition replaces an antiquated metal
building. The space will be open for classes this fall. |

Cambridge-Isanti
School District Adds Two Buildings Cambridge-Isanti
boasts one of the fastest growing school districts in the state. The
district anticipated the influx of families by constructing two new
schools last fall at a cost of $48 million. The 127,000-square-foot
middle school located southeast of Cambridge provides space for up
to 875 students. The 97,000-square-foot intermediate school
accommodates 850 students. |
