A House Hunter's Dream
Relatively low housing and land prices continue to fuel Cambridge's expansion. This is especially true among families and first-time home buyers. Options include:

  • Historic homes in established neighborhoods
  • Executive homes in newer developments
  • Waterfront homes overlooking the scenic Rum River or one of four lakes
  • Starter homes in kid-friendly neighborhoods linked by parks and trails
  • Easy-care townhomes on quiet residential streets
  • Architecturally striking senior housing complexes offering independent, assisted and full-care options.

Record-Setting Home Building
Isanti County is one of the fastest growing counties in the state, based on new housing construction. In 2002, it was the 13th fastest growing county in the nation. Current housing statistics show continued growth and affordability:*

Planned Community Development
A major redevelopment of the 88-acre Regional Treatment Center campus into a Heritage Green master planned community was launched in 2005. The project, funded in part by a $350,000 grant from the Blandin Foundation, created more than 250 new affordable housing units in the center of town. The redevelopment project was called "a model for other fast-growing rural communities faced with managing sprawl and growth" by Warren Hanson, president of the Greater Minnesota Housing Fund.
