Wired for E-business
The City of Cambridge is one of only 42 communities
to be certified as e-commerce-ready by the Minnesota
Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) in 2008.
The certification means that Cambridge has the technology
infrastructure in place to meet the needs of progressive,
growing businesses.
Telecommunications & Internet
Service Providers
NorthStar Access
NorthStar Access is
a full-service telecommunications firm offering local, long-distance
and high-speed Internet
services to five communities north of the metro area. Its
largest and fastest-growing customer base is in Cambridge.
In fact, it serves a third of the community. NorthStar's
local office is known for providing "a level of personal
service that is unheard of in the telecom industry."
Qwest
Cambridge is part of Qwest's
Twin Cities calling zone, the largest in the country. Local
businesses benefit
by not incurring long-distance charges when calling metro
suppliers or customers.
Genesis Wireless
Braham-based Genesis Wireless provides custom wireless
broadband to businesses, government, schools and medical
groups throughout east central Minnesota. It also offers
high-speed Internet, Web hosting, domain management, networking
solutions and dial-up service.
East Central Energy
East Central
Energy began providing high-speed Internet via satellite
in early 2005. The electric cooperative provides
long-distance and conventional dial-up service as well.
